Picnic table kits are easy to assemble using standard tools. You can put one of these together within an hour or two. In fact, an experienced modeler can do it within 5 minutes – it’s that simple. Picnic table kits come in wood, aluminum, steel and plastic. Depending on your budget, you can choose from any one material.

To get started on assembling your picnic table kit make sure you are working outdoors, as you will need a large space to layout the different parts and put them together. Next you have to get your basic tools, like a hammer, screwdriver, ruler and wrench. Remember to wear a mask, as fumes from the glue and polish can be dangerous.

A simple picnic table comes with a single unit of five connected boards that form the table top. There are two bench tops, each made up of a single unit of two boards that are connected together. There are two legs for each bench, which will have to be attached to the base of the bench tops. In addition to this there are a few cross-braces and horizontal braces that are used to hold the different parts together.

Special alignment slots are engraved onto the bottom of the table and bench tops where the parts connect. All you have to do is glue or screw the parts correctly to the slots provided. Follow the instructions given and you can put together a perfectly aligned picnic table in a jiffy.

If you like you can also drill a hole in the center of the picnic table to attach a nice picnic umbrella for shade. Finally, apply the finishing touches with sealer, stain or paint, depending on your preference. Your picnic table is now ready to be used and is guaranteed to give you many years of use.
